Welcome to the Invictus UK Trials!

A huge welcome to the 475 competitors and all their supporters taking part in the first ever Invictus UK Trials here in Sheffield, starting today (22 to 26 July).

Lots of sporting events are FREE to all, alongside a jam-packed programme of culture.

The Invictus UK Trials is a qualifying event for selection for the Invictus Games 2020 which will be held at The Hague in The Netherlands in 2020. All athletes who want to be considered for the Games in 2020 have to attend the Trials here in Sheffield.

This event is also playing host to the UK national championship for wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans who wish to compete in adaptive sport but have no wish to be selected for the Invictus Games in 2020.

The event includes archery, athletics, indoor rowing, powerlifting, road cycling on a closed road circuit, swimming, sitting volleyball, wheelchair basketball and wheelchair rugby at world-class venues in Sheffield including Ponds Forge.

Visit Sheffield City Council’s website for details of the week long event.
