Visitor marketing & guides
Keeping the city centre busy, accessible and inclusive
As part of its commitment to a busier city centre – one that is easier to access and navigate – Sheffield BID supports the development of the visitor economy, enhancing the city centre’s image as a vibrant destination that appeals to different types of users and visitors who come here for a lot of different reasons.
Our call to action to visitors is to … “Experience Sheffield“. Our visitor-related activities seek to attract higher spending visitors into our shops, bars, restaurants and leisure venues at the same time supporting a vibrant destination for those who work and live here.
Experience Sheffield activities include seasonal and leisure campaigns with content focused on offers, promotions and experiential events such as Fashion Week (Style Sheffield), Restaurant Week (Dine Sheffield), and visitor trails such as Sheffield Bricktropolis, The Sheffield Christmas Trail, Santa’s Post Office and Brearley Bear’s Easter Hunt. Our Alive After Five campaign promotes the evening experience after 5pm. We also help to leverage participation in partner events, whilst seeking to convert some of these visitors into customers for local businesses – encouraging businesses to create incentives for visitors coming into the city centre. Other notable summer time events at we sponsor include the outdoor climbing festival Cliffhanger and the Fringe @ Tramlines.
Our Experience Sheffield wayfinding guides are designed to help people explore all parts of the city centre. Our library of visitor guides can be viewed here (on the publishing platform issuu.com)
