Free graffiti removal for city centre businesses during BID Spring Clean
This March, Sheffield BID will open up its free graffiti removal service to non-levy paying businesses in Sheffield city centre.
During the BID Spring Clean the Clean Team, the BID’s dedicated graffiti removal team, will remove graffiti free of charge from privately owned, commercial properties with the landlord’s permission. The service is already available to BID levy payers free of charge but is opened up to businesses in the city centre every year to help clean up the city ahead of the start of the festival and events season.
The BID Spring Clean has become an annual event which takes place as part of the BID’s commitment to making Sheffield city centre cleaner. It runs alongside Keep Britain Tidy’s annual Great British Spring Clean, which takes place from 22 March – 23 April.
Part of the BID’s commitment to making Sheffield city centre cleaner, Sheffield BID deploys two street teams – the Clean Team and the Street Rangers. The Clean Team provides a graffiti removal service to keep the city’s walls clear of unwanted tags, whilst the Street Rangers undertake a daily early morning clean of the streets, removing mess left by late-night revellers and rough sleepers.
During the BID Spring Clean we will remove graffiti from privately owned, commercial properties, free of charge. Landlords and tenants of private commercial properties in the city centre affected by graffiti can add these to the BID Spring Clean schedule, free of charge, by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
To launch the BID Spring Clean we will undertake a day of litter picking in Sheffield city centre on Friday 22 March. If you would like to help out and become a Guest Ranger for the day, find out more here.Share this article
