Fringe @ Tramlines 2019 – road closures

As the main Tramlines event takes place at Hillsborough Park many city centre venues are continuing the tradition of live music events that complement the festival. Sheffield City Council and Sheffield BID are supporting this with family-friendly outdoor music, street entertainment and activities under The Fringe At Tramlines brand, with the approval of Tramlines Events Ltd.

Devonshire Green

12 midday to 9pm (Saturday, 20 July) and 12 midday to 7pm (Sunday, 21 July)

This will be home to The Fringe Stage, a family-friendly, managed area highlighting the best of world music and local emerging talent. Plus, sing-a-long Sunday.

The site will be free entry but no glass or cans are allowed on site. Please help us to keep the area safe and friendly for everyone.

Build begins – Thursday, 18 July. Site cleared Tuesday, 23 July

Peace Gardens

12 midday to 9pm (Saturday) and 12 midday to 7pm (Sunday)
Catering from 11am on both days

The Peace Gardens will be the family area with a relaxed vibe, a 1980/90s disco, helter skelter, maze, street food and bars.

The site will be free entry but no glass is allowed on site. Please help us to keep the area safe and friendly for everyone.

Barker’s Pool

12.30 to 7pm (Saturday) and 12.30 to 5pm (Sunday)
Catering from 11am on both days

This area will house some fantastic acts showing the best of street entertainment as well as food, craft stalls, rides and a bar area.

Road closures

To improve safety at the event and for other users of the city centre the following road closures will be in place:

Saturday, 20 July

Devonshire Street, Division Street and Cambridge Street (from Cross Burgess/Burgess Street junction) will be closed to traffic on Saturday from 7am to approx. 10.30pm.

Access for deliveries will be allowed until 10am and Rockingham Street and Carver Street will be maintained as crossovers.

Access to John Lewis car park from Pinstone Street will be maintained. Exit will be left towards Barkers Pool only.

Sunday, 21 July

Devonshire Street between Fitzwilliam Street and Trafalgar Street/Westfield Terrace will be closed on Sunday from 7am to approx. 8pm. Access for deliveries will be allowed until 10am.

Access to private car parks and parking spaces, and drop offs to properties on streets leading onto Devonshire Street and Division Street will be maintained. There will be no crossovers or access to Devonshire Street (Saturday & Sunday) and Division Street (Saturday) from these side roads.
