Future High Street Fund

It’s great news that Sheffield City Council, with support from the University of Sheffield, has been successful in reaching the next stage of its bid for a share of the Government’s £675m Future High Streets fund

“The announcement that Sheffield has made it to phase two of the bidding process for the Future High Streets Fund is hugely encouraging and a testament to the partnership working that has created the city’s proposal.

“The city is already driving forward ambitious change via its Heart of the City II regeneration project to strengthen and adapt the core of the city centre but it’s important other areas are considered too. If successful, this proposal would allow Sheffield’s most historic retail areas – Fargate and High Street – to overcome the challenges they face and achieve their potential for new uses and a sustainable, dynamic future that they undoubtedly have.

“Sheffield BID has been pleased to support the development of the proposal and we are excited about what a successful bid can achieve.”
