Jamie and Will join the team!

Sheffield BID has funded the addition of two extra city centre ambassadors to complement the current provision provided by Sheffield City Council.

Jamie Dean and Will Brunton (pictured L/R) have recently joined the Council’s 14-strong ambassador team to assist businesses and visitors in the city centre. The BID funded ambassadors will provide a crucial link between local businesses and Sheffield BID.

The Council’s Ambassador team provides a highly visible presence to offer public reassurance, wayfinding information and promotion of the city centre. They also assist and support the police by helping to deal with low level anti-social behaviour.

The additional appointments deliver on the BID’s commitment to increase the number of city centre ambassadors.

Both Will and Jamie will help increase face to face service in reporting issues from businesses to Sheffield BID. Part of their role is also to communicate the latest BID projects, events and opportunities to BID Levy Payers.

The duo will be on patrol Tuesday to Thursday from 10am to 6pm and will also undertake, as part of the BID’s commitment to supporting a safer night time environment, an extended shift Friday to Saturday, from 2pm until 10pm.

As the BID puts plans in place to continue its successful track record into 2018 and beyond, the ambassador team is another key investment providing immediate impact and added value to businesses in the city centre.

Diane Jarvis, Sheffield BID Manager, said: ‘’Our BID ambassadors will play a vital role in ensuring the BID functions smoothly – be it acting as a guide for visitors, liaising with law enforcement and other partner agencies and providing information to our businesses.

‘’We’ve been listening to what businesses want and they’ve told us loud and clear they want to see more police and a face to face service from the BID that can assist visitors, their clients and their employees.

“Will and Jamie will help to make new connections and promote to businesses the opportunities that Sheffield BID provides.

‘‘We have much to communicate to our BID Levy Payers so I am sure our ambassadors will find themselves in great demand as they become better known across the BID area.”
