BID 3 consultation - have your say

In 2015, the business community established Sheffield BID to create a city centre Business Improvement District (BID), governed by legislation and funded by an annual levy on qualifying premises.

A BID lasts for up to five years, after which a new ballot must take place to continue. The second term of Sheffield BID concludes in March 2026, with a ballot for a potential third term (2026-2031) planned for Autumn this year. The third reiteration of the BID will be a new, bigger, and more ambitious scheme.

Adapting to a changing world

The world has changed significantly since the inception of Sheffield BID. The challenges and opportunities facing our city centre have evolved, and it is crucial that our BID evolves too.

The current BID has been effective, but to continue delivering value and addressing new priorities, we must adapt and expand our efforts.

Your input is vital

Our Board believes we understand the needs of the city centre over the next five years. However, your views are essential to ensure we are on the right track.

  • Have we identified the right priorities for the next five-year term?
  • Are there any other issues we should address or commitments we should undertake?
  • Is the financial balance correct between our stated priorities?

Now is the time to ensure your voice is heard as we prepare for a new BID.

Please contribute your views and help shape the BID’s proposal for the next five years.

Please respond by 5pm on Friday, 20 June 2025.

Kind regards

Tony Stacey
Director & Chair of the Sheffield BID Board
