During the first national lockdown we sent a message to business owners to tell them that a roaming BID security team would be patrolling the city centre.
Our mobile guarding team operated in two vehicles seven days a week with access to the radio network to maintain direct communication with the Council's CCTV control room if police assistance was required.
Now that we find ourselves facing a second lockdown, the team are returning to help deter criminality whilst the city is once again forced into sleep mode.
Although there are no indicators suggesting an increase in crime, this is a reasonable measure that we can take to assist retailers, business managers and office managers in the current situation.
